I'm El, your resident designer, maker & content creator for Seabeans Collective!! I'm 25 & do everything personally (with a little photography help from my fiancé, Alex 😆) & work from my home studio in Durham, UK.
I am a completely self taught jeweller & LOVE sea glass ~ so I built my life around it!!
The origins of Seabeans
I started out wire wrapping sea glass pieces with silver to make pedants & quickly realised how much I loved creating my own jewellery.
Naturally the next step was to ditch the idea of having a career related to my degree & teach myself how to silversmith. My first design was my sea glass flowers, which completely changed the game for me.
The sea creatures collection
I learned completely through trial & error, which is definitely not the quickest or easiest way to learn but it led me to developing my own complex techniques & methods (some conventional, some not) that have made my jewellery stand out to many.
My biggest example of this was my sea animals necklaces, which then led to nature & now insect necklace collections. They're favourites & for good reason! Each one is hand soldered & fabricated from silver wire & silver sheets, so no two are ever the same.
I then expanded into more materials such as gemstones & vintage pottery/glass... leading to my next creation:

Wanting to wear my jewellery as not just necklaces, I developed my own line of charm jewellery, using special charm links that allow you to clip your pieces onto compatible jewellery, named charm keepers.
Each piece is hours of work, handmade & built to be perfect for jewellery lovers.
